Darren Jones was introduced to the American wilderness at a young age,
spending the majority of his youth exploring the coast off Southern California and climbing
the many mountains of the Sierra Nevada. It was during this time that Jones began to explore
photography as a way to capture the amazing landscapes that he encountered on his many adventures.
At the age of 20, he decided to combine his passion for photography and fascination with technology, when he
went to work for a visual effects company in Los Angeles, California. It was here that Darren further refined his advanced photographic techniques and unique visual style.
Since that time he has spent the last 14 years working in the motion picture industry. Over the course of his career he has worked on numerous blockbuster
films, including the Lord of the Rings and Star Wars trilogys.
Despite his intrest in motion picture filmmaking, Jones still prefers the intimacy of still photography.
And, with his thorough knowledge of both film and digital imaging, he looks to take large format
photography and printing to the next level. |
